Before you sign up for an orientation

In accordance with the ICA Co-operative principles, membership at the Co-op is open to all persons able to use our services and willing to accept the responsibilities of membership, without gender, social, racial, political or religious discrimination.

However, participation is a substantial mutual commitment between member and Co-op, and we ask that you consider a few points before signing up for an orientation session:

Time and availability

• Do you expect to be in NYC for over 6 months?
• Are you waiting to hear about a job, fellowship, audition, etc that might change your schedule or take you out of town for a while?
• Are you available to work the same 2.25 hour shift each week?

Nature of In-store Work

Shift responsibilities are diverse, and over may include:

• Lifting of 30 lbs.
• Use of cash register
• Interaction with many other members and customers.
