Before you sign up for an orientation
In accordance with the ICA Co-operative principles, membership at the Co-op is open to all persons able to use our services and willing to accept the responsibilities of membership, without gender, social, racial, political or religious discrimination.
However, participation is a substantial mutual commitment between member and Co-op, and we ask that you consider a few points before signing up for an orientation session:
Time and availability
- Do you expect to be in NYC for over 6 months?
- Are you waiting to hear about a job, fellowship, audition, etc that might change your schedule or take you out of town for a while?
- Are you available to work the same 2.25 hour shift each week?
Nature of In-store Work
Shift responsibilities are diverse, and may include:
- Lifting of 30 lbs.
- Use of cash register
- Interaction with *many* other members and customers, of all personality types.
"I think it's a good fit, take me to the orientation signup page."
